PC trouble, laptop trouble, site problem...

I know, I know it's been ages right... As most of you know I was ill with mumps and I'm very happy to say that I'm better! :D
The PC is also now fixed (I'm using it now) but my laptop I'm sad to say is broken once again and it's likely I've lost the hard-drive completely this time. Half a glass of lemonade was accidentally spilt on it! Needless to say I was not impressed! I'm not quite sure how it happened only that it did.

I haven't been able to update at all, what with being ill and having both computers going on the frizz one after the other (I had to wipe this computer and put it back to factory settings last night after a virus got in - possibly over MSN when my sister was using it but we're not 100% sure). I'm currently going through my vast amounts of e-mail and trying to reply to everyone, speaking of e-mail why is it even with a really good spam filter it still seems to get into my inbox? I'm also having problems with spam in Fanupdate as well, thank god for it's ability to hold comments for approval. I can't use the captcha though as yet again (for some unknown reason) I've lost the use of both GD Library and FreeType library (the captcha for Fanupdate requires the latter), so I can't update my gallery or get rid of spam easily. I've tried contacting my 'host' (http://www.1clickwebsite.com/) but all I get is that they are installed and that it must be a problem "my end", but I can't see anything I'm doing wrong. Thing is though when I try an install plogger (which needs GD) it comes up with

Plogger wont work until the following problems are resolved:

  • PHP GD module was not detected.

Now to me that sounds like it hasn't been installed (or that it's the wrong version of it). I don't know.

I do hope to do all the updates I'm planning on very soon though... So, watch for those. As for what I've been up to (aside from the obvious) I've been at work (once I was better obviously), had an interview for another job (I didn't get it), have been job hunting, been planning what to do for my 20th (it's on May 7th :D), taking care of Hermy (my tarantula) - she is doing very well, has been making lots of webs (a sign of a happy spider) and has gotten quite a bit bigger as well. I have also been cooking or rather learning to cook and I must say it's going quite well and I am enjoying it, when Mark comes over later today he is going to teach me to make an omelette - I'm having cheese and chicken with mine. Apart from (all) that I haven't really been up to much... Has anyone been watching the new series of Doctor Who on the BBC? I have and so far I'm really enjoying it, especially the episode with the Ood (got to love the Ood)!

Anyway, I don't really have anything more to say.

Sweden trip

So, I'm still not better... But I am slowly getting there. I empathize the slowly part, having mumps really sucks arse! Fever, headache, soar throat, cough, swollen cheeks, glands constantly up, runny/blocked nose (changes from one to the other), feeling constantly drained, not sleeping well (if at all). It really sucks! At least I've had Buffy to keep me entertained. :)

Regardless of the ill factor I decided I'd force myself to update my blog/website as much as I can before the screen hurts my eyes... Now, where to start? Trip to Sweden? Work? Hermy the tarantula? Movies? Birthday plans? So, much to say/talk about and I have no clue where I should start... The beginning maybe? OK.

Mark and I came back from Sweden March 24th after spending a 'long weekend' there. We left Heathrow airport near London at around 9am and arrived in the city of Gothenberg at about 12 (because of the hour ahead time difference - a whole hour!). When we finally found our baggage (mine always seems to be last!) and got outside, I was pleasantly surprised to see the vast amounts of deep snow. Everywhere! I went on to snow later that evening as well as for everyday of our trip and what was best was it never completely melted! Did I mention I love snow? A lot better than the rain we get here anyway. Mark and I stayed in a lovely hotel known as 'Quality Hotel Winn'...

We spent most of our trip shopping, sight seeing, traveling on buses, trying not to get hit by trams, staying up late, spending time with friends (we have friends in Gothenberg) etc. We also played pool in a bar one night until 1am =/ for some reason! It was a very good trip though I throughly enjoyed it and can't wait until we go back next year.

Now for the photo fans out there, here are some more pictures I took while I was over there (I do have more but Mark wouldn't be happy if I posted them as he's in them - he's extremely camera shy):

Hope you've all enjoyed the pictures (also sorry if they are a bit blurry especially the night ones). :)

As this post has been very picture-orientated I have decided to save the other things I've have to blog about for another time as some will more than likely also include pictures, this is mainly to cut down on site loading times. How accessible/usability aware of me. :)
